Starschreck V2
By dan on 28 September 2009 under starschreck
Starschreck V2 is based off of the Elevate theme offered by Design to Wordpress. Most of the content and site-organization remains the same, though some of the Delicious information is now coming directly from Delicious/Settings/Blogging (Link Rolls & Tag Rolls).
There will probably be continued tweaking and tinkering. I’ve been considering joining Twitter (some people have been bugging me) and there is a pretty cool feature in the Elevate theme for twitter feeds.
I uploaded my first Stem to ccMixter, one A Cappella so far. I realized that I’ve enjoyed remixing other people a lot and figured that it would be a good experiment to make some of my own work more available for that purpose.
Starschreck Turns One Years Old
By dan on 01 April 2009 under starschreck
One years old is, of course, not grammatically correct. It is funny how many automated systems still do not account for the singular case. There are currently 1 users online, There is one people in your extended network, Billy has 1 followers…
Today Starschreck turns one year old. It’s been a busy year with finishing school, two internships, and working on a solo sound.
Let’s recap some popular posts.
Memory Ping: 002. The most popular post has been about the 3 ninjas. I have contemplated turning starschreck into a ninja blog. My author name would be Danielson.
Plastic Prosthetic Ears. Forget electronics in your ears, what about embracing the Dumbo-aesthetic?
The Free Sound Project & An Idea For A Project. I think this made #1 for longest blog post title. FSP is a great resource for sound designers. I haven’t had that much use for it until recently needed some new impulse responses in a pinch.
Gimme Me Some Sample. A riff on sampling and an idea about a person who hears a song based off a sample but isn’t aware that it is a sample, i.e. the young hip hop generation.
The Loudness War. About how music is getting louder, advertising is rumored to be partly responsible for this. Features a YouTube video that illustrates the point.
